WHY DWARSKERSBOS?
Dwarskersbos, a quiet and tranquil residential seaside town and a fast growing holiday
destination, about 90 minutes drive from Cape Town on the R27 route, only 7 kilometres
north of Velddrif.
Dwarskersbos is situated between Velddrif and Elandsbay, which is a fishing mecca for the
small boat and line fisherman and has kilometres of clean white beaches.
A big advantage of Dwarskersbos and the West Coast in the summer season is that although hot
during the middle of the day it has very cool late afternoons and mostly windless evenings. The
ideal holiday climate.
It is near all facilities in Velddrif as well as Vredenburg with a big shopping mall and a
very good Private Hospital.
The area around Dwarskersbos is a bird lover paradise and huge flocks of flamingos and pelicans
on the Bergriver welcome visitors to the area and is a big attraction, together with the
Bergriver estuary with a large variety of water birds, which include the little Blue Heron.
Otters and mongoose are common sight. The Rocherpan Nature Reserve just north of Dwarskersbos
also offers rich birdlife.
Other attractions in the area are the West Coast Fossil Park, West Coast National Park,
Langebaan Lagoon and the Rocherpan Nature Reserve. Various 4 x 4 routes exist in the area
with private camping and picnic facilities.
Think of fresh seafood and Velddrif will attract you as a seafood mecca on the West Coast, well
known for its snoek, crayfish and bokkoms (dried fish, a West Coast speciality, prepared and
dried in Velddrif on the banks of the Bergriver). Fresh fish and seafood are available
throughout the year, at fish retailers.
All these make Dwarskersbos one of the most ideal investment areas on the West Coast. Live a
quality live in the safe, quiet and tranquil Dwarskersbos.
